Are you looking for a Reykjavik Campsite? here you have our ultimate list!

Reykjavik Eco Campsite

This five star campsite is conveniently located just 3km away from Reykjavik city center. It is a really nice walk to go from the campsite to downtown by the seaside. You can also find a pool, Laugardalur Swimming pool, a Gym and a Spa just right next to the campsite.

The price per adult is 2.200 ISK and they have discounts for long stays. They offer services as electricity, washing machine or dryer with an extra charge.

Hafnarfjördur Campsite

This is, in my opinion, one of the best options to stay near Reykjavik. This accommodation has a hostel with rooms from 2 to 8 people but also has a campground. The scout group Hraunbúar runs the hostel, which also has big rooms for up to 45 people with sleeping bags.

This Reykjavik campsite is really convenient as if you have a rental car it is only 30 minutes from the Keflavik international airport and 10 minutes from the downtown. However, it also has a bus stop (bus nº 1) and the buses for the airport stop here as well. This way, you are next to the nature with direct linking to the city.

The price for adults is 1.700 ISK + 330 ISK city tax per tent/campervan. They have special prices for long stays, seniors and young travellers. Children below 13 years go free.

The price includes washing machine, dryer, kitchen access and free internet at the Lava hostel. That is great as many campgrounds charge for those services. They do have as well WC and showers at the campsite. This camping also offers electricity against payment.

Mosskogar Camping

Mosskogar Camping is located at Mosfellsbær, just 10 minutes by car from Reykjavik and 20 minutes to the city center. It is not a huge campsite but it’s still equipped with WC, water, cooking facilities, showers and WiFi. Those are all included on the 1500 ISK fee per adult. Kids under 13 entry is free.

You can also use the electricity for an extra 1000 ISK and washing machine for 500 ISK.

The owners are really nature-friendly, pets are allowed and there is a nice greenhouse where the kitchen is located. Make sure you bring your boots though, as it’s a bit muddy when raining.

Mosfellsbaer Camping

Located right next to Road One or Ring Road, this Reykjavik campsite is only 10 minutes by car from Reykjavik and it’s really near from the mentioned Mosskogar Camping.

It is open from June until September and it offers toilets, water, electricity and showers. There is a swimming pool, sports area and walking paths. They also provide horse rental and dogs are allowed.

Camper Resort

This option is only for campervan or motorhome users, as they do not allow tents but only camping vehicles. They are just 10 minutes by car from Reykjavik city center, surrounded by nature, you can also get to the city by bike as there are many paths right next to the site. This campsite is open from early June until late October.

There is a small bar inside where you can get pizzas, other snack and beer and they also provide BBQ facilities. The only blemish for me is that they charge for showers (500 ISK) and do not offer waste disposal services for the cassettes of the motorhomes.

For those sport lovers, they have beach volleyball and skateboarding facilities and a climbing frame free of charge. The entrance fee is 1900 ISK and children under 12 go free. The charge for electricity is 800 ISK per night.

This one is a singular campsite as it is right in the city, but still on the nature and right next to the beach. You will enjoy the summer evenings by the sea in just a few steps from your motorhome.
